Jan Gan Man English Secondary School Celebrates Independence Week 2025
Jan Gan Man English Secondary School proudly celebrated Independence Week 2025 from August 2nd to August 15th, as part of the nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. The week-long celebration was a testament to the school's commitment to fostering a deep sense of patriotism and national pride among its students and staff. The festivities were organized in three distinct phases, each designed to engage the school community in a unique and meaningful way.
Phase I: Augmenting Patriotism (2nd - 8th August 2025)
The first phase was dedicated to creative and community-oriented activities. Students transformed the school campus with Tiranga-inspired art, decorating walls and boards with vibrant displays of saffron, white, and green. This creative spirit was further highlighted in the 'Tiranga Rangoli' competition, where intricate and beautiful rangoli designs were created across the school grounds.
A special focus was placed on honoring the armed forces. In collaboration with the Department of Posts, students participated in 'Tiranga Rakhi-making' workshops and competitions. The handmade rakhis, symbols of gratitude and affection, were lovingly crafted and then dispatched to soldiers and police personnel. Additionally, a heartfelt letter-writing campaign saw students penning messages to acknowledge the unwavering dedication of our soldiers and police personnel. These letters were collected and handed over to local postal authorities for delivery.
To promote national awareness, students were encouraged to take part in the national quiz on the Tiranga through the MyGov platform. Educational exhibitions provided by the Ministry of Culture were also displayed, offering a rich visual history of the national flag. The school actively engaged with the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' social media campaign, sharing pictures of the activities with the hashtag #harghartiranga2025. Students also volunteered to spread awareness, motivating their families to host the national flag at their homes and upload selfies on the campaign website.
Phase II: The March of Unity (9th - 12th August 2025)
The second phase brought the patriotic spirit out into the community. Students participated in local 'Tiranga rallies' or 'yatras,' marching in and around the school premises holding a long tricoloured fabric or flag. These rallies were a powerful display of unity and national pride, drawing attention and applause from the local community.
Phase III: The Culmination of Celebrations (13th - 15th August 2025)
The final phase marked the culmination of the celebrations. On August 15th, flag hoisting ceremonies were conducted in all school sections. Students, teachers, and staff gathered with immense pride as the national flag was hoisted, followed by the singing of the national anthem and patriotic songs. The week's events concluded on a high note, with students capturing and uploading their 'Selfie with Tiranga' on the official campaign website, symbolizing their personal connection to the national flag and the spirit of Independence.
The successful organization of these activities highlighted the enthusiastic participation of every student and staff member, making Independence Week 2025 a truly memorable and patriotic celebration at Jan Gan Man English Secondary School.
